Short Breaks & Respite Care: Providing families with time to rest and recharge while ensuring consistent, nurturing care for their child.

Our Story

Founded by Rory Sanderson and Nathan Brown, Let’s Thrive was born out of a shared passion for creating inclusive, nurturing spaces for children with complex needs. With over 30 years of combined experience in the care and education sectors, our founders have built a service dedicated to empowering young people and supporting families.

At Let’s Thrive, our mission is to empower children with complex special needs by providing individualised support, expert guidance, and innovative interventions designed to enhance their quality of life.

Our ethos is built on empathy, collaboration, and the belief that every child has the right to feel valued and thrive. We use the Green Behaviour Scale to guide our practice, ensuring a proactive approach that prioritises well-being and reduces the need for restrictive practices.

We work closely with families, schools, and other professionals to ensure a joined-up, consistent approach that wraps support around each child. Whether through short breaks, bespoke interventions, or behaviour support, we aim to create environments where children feel safe, understood, and empowered to grow.

Meet The Team

Rory Sanderson

Director

Before stepping into the role of Director at Let’s Thrive Ltd, Rory spent over 20 years in the education sector, deeply committed to understanding and supporting children's behaviour and regulation.

With a first-class degree in Disability and Childhood Studies, a PGCE (with QTS) in Health and Social Care and Masters level NPQ in Senior leadership, his work has always been focused on making a positive impact on individuals’ lives.

Rory’s diverse teaching experience spans A-level psychology, Health and Social Care, and, most notably, Special Needs Education, where he has spent the majority of his career and holds a leadership role focused on Regulation and Behaviour. This blend of academic knowledge and hands-on experience has provided him with valuable insights into how people connect, express emotions, and navigate the world around them.

For over a decade, Rory has also been a Level 3 NAPPI (Non-Abusive Psychological and Physical Intervention) UK trainer. This role has allowed him to deliver specialist training in trauma-informed, RRN-compliant intervention strategies to a wide range of professionals, embedding safe, respectful, and effective practice wherever he works.

Known for his empathetic leadership style and unwavering commitment to authenticity, Rory has always strived to make a real difference in the lives of those he supports.

When he’s not working or spending time with his family, you’ll likely find him staying active—whether in the gym, mountain biking, or on the squash court. He believes maintaining a healthy lifestyle is key to both personal well-being and effective leadership.

Nathan Brown

Director

Blending a strong academic foundation with extensive frontline experience, Nathan Brown brings a distinctive combination of specialist education expertise and business acumen to his leadership role at Let’s Thrive.

He holds a degree in Business and A-level qualifications in both ICT and Business Studies, equipping him with a robust understanding of strategic planning, operational management, and service delivery.

Over the past seven years, Nathan has worked at a specialist education setting for young people with complex and diverse needs. During this time, he has developed a deep specialism in behaviour support, emotional regulation, and tailored intervention planning. His practice is underpinned by a commitment to evidence-based, person-centred approaches that recognise the individuality and potential of every young person.

Nathan is a Level 3 NAPPI UK trainer (Non-Abusive Psychological and Physical Interventions), reflecting his advanced qualifications in safe, ethical, and non-abusive support strategies. He delivers training and guidance to professionals across the care and education sectors, promoting consistency and collaboration in support planning.

As a Behaviour and Regulation Practitioner, Nathan takes a pastoral and proactive role in developing bespoke interventions, offering practical and emotional support to ensure positive outcomes. He also holds a TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Autism, reinforcing his comprehensive understanding of neurodivergent profiles and the importance of empathetic, adaptable care.

Nathan’s dual background in both direct care and business operations enables him to ensure that Let’s Thrive is both values-led and professionally run—providing exceptional support while maintaining the highest standards.
